Langtang Region

 
The Langtang region Trekking lies in the north of the Kathmandu city.The Langtang valley runs west to east below the southern flanks and glaciers of langtang lirung(7245m), which separates this high alpine valley from the Tibetan plateau to the north.Sherpa farmers inhabit this and the Helambu area lying to the south beyond and below the sacred lakes of Gosainkunda.Easily accessible from Kathmandu we consider the treks in this area to be amongst the most underrated in Nepal.marvelous autumn trekking with fine mountain views,and one of the bets areas for spring flowers and bird-life.Although Langtang valley can be very cold in Janaury-february with the Gosainkunda pass closed, Helambu is temperate year-round and offers good possibilities for short treks into sherpa villages.
 

Langtang Valley Trek

This trek begins in the lower Langtang Valley, trekking through its forests and among the villages and farmlands of its people, many of who are of Tibetan origin. This was once an important trading route with Tibet, so that most of the villagers and peoples are involved in trade.

In the way of journey, you will walk through Langtang National Park. Although wildlife is never easy to spot in a forest setting, there we get the chances of seeing some interesting animals and birds...more
   

Langtang/Gosainkund Trekking

Gosainkund is situated north from kathmandu in Langtang region. This is one of the famous Holy Lake in Nepal. The route from kathmandu to Dhunche and trek to big syabru. You will pass through Singh Gompa than you can visit the real Yak Chesses factory, than continue trek to over Lauribinyak pass and you will have panorama view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal,Manaslu and Annapurna randge.the Gosainkunda is most beautiful lake and first you will pass saraswati Kunda, Bhairab kunda and Gusain kunda.. more
   

Langtang/ Ganja La Pass Trek

This Trek commence with an overland journey to Syabrubesi thus avoiding a stay at Dunche the main trading post of the area and a town of little character. From here, we spend four days hiking up through this beautiful alpine valley to Kyangjin Gompa, where we have two days to explore the glaciers of the high valley there is also the possibility to climb some minor peaks. Helambu Trekking


This region is inhabited by Sherpas whom you can include the Helambu in a Langtang Trek either via Gosainkunda or across Ganja La. The language, culture and dress of the Helambu Sherpas are very different from the Solu Khumbu Sherpas.
