Trip information

Bardia National Park is situated in the lowlands of Western Terai, this National Park is the largest of its kind in Nepal. This least explored and least crowded park resembles Chitwan National Park in terms of wildlife and ecosystem. This park initially served as a Royal hunting reserve. In 1976, it was retitled as Royal Karnali Wildlife Reserve with an area of only 368 sq. km. It was in 1982 that, this area was renamed as Royal Bardia Wildlife Reserve and the Babai River Valley was comprised within its area. Now, this verdant wildlife consists of 968 sq. km and was granted a name of Bardia National Park which has been preserving the dwindling species of the exceptional ecosystem. This uninterrupted park adjoins the eastern bank of Karnali River and is bisected by the Babai River in the Bardiya District.
This extensive and varied wildlife consists of distinct flora and fauna, the Royal Bengal Tiger, endangered one horned Rhino, wild elephants, Swamp deer, Blackbuck, Mugger crocodiles, Gharial crocodile, Gangetic Dolphins and includes 30 different mammals along with over 400 species of birds. When you go on a safari, if the season is right and if you are lucky enough then you can come across these endangered species. If you consider the rainy season, the roads will be slippery and your guide will have to find a safer route for you. Moreover, rainy is not the season for tigers and rhinos but you can encounter the peacock, species of deer, wild elephants and a few more. The best season to visit the Bardiapark is from March to June. Though the temperatures are highest during that period (up to and exceeding 42°C), it’s the best time of year to see animals (especially tigers) since a lack of water in the jungle drives them to predictable watering holes, tall grasses and other foliage is at a minimum. Also, if you want to come upon the tigers, you need to be careful and follow your expert guides. A walk into the jungle can be best for this option.
This park also consists of a dangerous hanging wooden bridge. If you dare an adventure go for a walk deep into the jungle and enjoy your trip with the great predators of nature. Also, there are towers of photography that provide a beautiful landscape and an overview of the jungle. The area also consists of
