The Tibet Everest Base Camp Overland Tour begins at Lhasa and ends at Kathmandu with a visit to the Everest base camp. This Overland Tour covers the beautiful Tibetan cities and towns of Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse and Rongbuk. While there, we visit popular landmarks like Dalai Lama’s Potala and Norbulingka Palaces, the Tibet Museum, Barkhor Bazaar and Gyantse Dzong. We also cross several passes and visit the beautiful YamdrokTso Lake on our trip. Impressive Tibetan monasteries like Sera, Drepung, Jokhang Temple. Afterwards drive overland across the Tibetan highlands and high passes to the fabled Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp from where the view of the great North face of Mount Everest is the most spectacular of all.

 

ITINERARY:

Day 1 :Arrival in Lhasa (3,650 m/11,972ft). Overnight at Hotel

Day 2 :Procees for Lhasa sightseeing: Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace and Tibet Museum: 5-6 hours. Overnight at Hotel

Day 3 :Proceeds for Lhasa Sightseeing: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar: 5-6 hours. Overnight at Hotel

Day 4 :Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m/12,956ft) via Karo La Pass and Yamdrok Tso Lake: 325km, 5-6 hours. Overnight at Hotel

Day 5 :Drive from Gyantse to Shigatse (3,900m/12,795ft) via Shalu Monastery: 95km, 2 hours. Overnight at Hotel

Day 6 :Drive from Shigatse to Rongbuk (5,000m/16,400ft) via Sakya Monastery: 355km, 8-9 hours. Overnight at Hotel

Day 7 :Morning Explore Mount Everest Base Camp and drive from Rongbuk to Shigatse. Overnight at Hotel

Day 8: Shigatse (3900m) to Lhasa (3650m)350km

Day 9: Depart from Lhasa
